The loss of the thumb finger automatically means a 30% of total body discapacity. This is because the thumb is responsable for all the presions human beings can make with hands.
This presions allow the person to grab objects and do daily activities such as eat, write and open doors, among other.
The thumb is the most expensive finger when imdemndfs for loss of it in a job accident.
Thumbie was inicially thought for thumbless people, but its use now expands to people with illnesses like arthrithis, and other illnesses related to hand movility problems.

Thumbie returns back the user an aproximate of 70% of the lost capacities, related to the thumb's capacity of oposition.
The design of Thumbie is focused on making the user be able to efectively develop daily tasks, such as writing, grabing a glass, eating, handling a key, etc..
For achieving this, the cocreation process and testing with a real user was crucial and it made us see the whole bunch of possibilities that this glove gives.
